Lipstick Haul: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks

Estefania Rodriguez

Yup. Because I don't have enough lipstick.

I swung by Sephora a couple of weeks ago, and was honestly just doing some retail shopping. I stopped by the Kat Von D section, I realized I don't own any of her lipsticks. Naturally, I had to pick up a few to test out. I ended up going with Magick, Piaf, and Gothica.

I have a few notes on these lipsticks. The glittery ones, Magick and Gothica, are particularly gritty. When I press my lips together, I can definitely feel the glitter. They are creamy and pigmented, but not exactly comfortable.

Gothica is a very unique color, which is why I got it, but it shares Magick's gritty complication.

Piaf is probably one of the most unique shades I've ever seen. It's a creamy warm brown base, with purple duochrome/glitter throughout. I don't think there is another company with this kind of color. The downside? It's streaky as FUCK. I cannot get a solid line of color. The application above took a lot of messing around until I got it right.

Overall?

I'd say look elsewhere for your colors before turning to KVD. The texture isn't stellar, they aren't exactly comfortable, and they're expensive at $21 a pop.

THey're nice, but not nice enough.
