If there's one thing you learn working at MAC, it's how to pick your A-team. By that I mean that sometimes, when you're in a real time crunch, it helps to know which products will never let you down, and will create whatever look your client is in the mood for. I have to be 100% honest, and the one palette I reach for so often that I had to actively remind myself to use other shadows is Burgundy Times Nine.
Not only does this palette look good on anyone, but the formulas are amazing. This palette looks amazing on blue, hazel, green, AND brown eyes. When it finally went on sale (pssst! you can still get it for $32), I had to get it.
It contains some favorites, like Sketch, Quarry, Embark, and Star Violet, as well as some new shades and one or two semi-duds (lookin at you, Honey Lust). YES. Honey Lust makes yet ANOTHER appearance in my posts. But worry not. I figured out how to make it work. Dampen the brush. That's it.
That's it. You're welcome.
That is the shit I do like.
Something I LOVE about this palette is that my favorite crease shade, Sketch, is amazing in it. I actually threw out my single pan because it was so patchy (and old, but whatevs), but the formulation in this palette is buttery and pigmented. Love.
I seriously can't say enough good things about it. Check it out the next time you're at MAC. You absolutely won't regret it.
